This week we did a lot of fun things.


For math we learned four different strategies for multiplication problems.


We’re doing reading stamina in ELA to see how long we can read without getting distracted. This week we are also doing writing stamina where we have a prompt and try to write as long as possible while staying on task.


For read aloud we’re reading Front Desk. During the book Ms. Bierbower stops us and we talk about what’s happening in the book.


In social studies we‘re asking ourselves “how are we like icebergs?” Another question we’re asking ourselves is “if we had a village who makes you feel safe and appreciated in that village?”


In specials we are learning more ways to be respectful and kind to others.

This week we learned lots of Important Information. We also did a lot of fun things.


In math we learned more about factors and multiples and reviewed some composite numbers and prime.


In Front desk Mia is going through some struggles because she has a lot on her plate. After we read we write off of prompts to practice for later homework.


In ELA we are practicing race writing it's like we have partners and we restate the question, answer the question,cite evidence, explain how you got that answer.


In social studies were learning about Civics, Geography, Economics and history.


In book clubs are thinking about what book clubs are and are saying how they would look and sound like.

This week we did lots of fun things like having fun activities.

This week we did a lot of fun things!


This week in math we practiced for our test, reviewed prime and composite numbers and learned about multiplicative comparisons.


In book clubs we have been talking about what happened in the book, Dragon’s In a Bag. Also we talked about what certain words mean.


In Front Desk this week we finished our prompts and are close to finishing the book. Currently Mia is sending letters to China and is doing well in school.


In social studies we talked about the four elements. The four elements are geography, civics, economics, and history.


In specials we are learning about the expectations for the classroom.


This week we had a blast learning more about a lot of fun things.

4th grade fantastic fun week.

This week we did so many fun things! Including switching classes for math.


In math this week we took some assessments, played math games and reviewed some things we have been learning in this unit. Finally we switched classes for math and learned a variety of things!


This week in read aloud we finished Front Desk and started Out Of My Mind by Sheron M. Draper.


In book clubs we have been talking about what is like before Brooklyn as we know it today.


In social studies we learned about Illinois a long time ago. The place we have been learning about is Cahokia. We also learned that Cahokia is no longer called Cahokia and you can still visit the ruins today!


For specials we have been talking about how to be respectful and responsible and if there is a sub to act the same way if the teacher were there.


This week we did some really fun things. Including how to talk to someone if something happened,and how to not be a bully.

This week we did so many fun things!


For math in the morning we have been doing some classwork, in the afternoon before P.E we work with different classes.


In reading we’ve been reading Out Of My Mind by Sheron M. Draper. Melody is going through many struggles she has never said a single word or stood up straight.


For writing we have been reading short stories and answering questions after. For example we would read a prompt on the T.V and answer the question in our E.L.A notebooks.


In social studies we’ve been learning about a place called Cahokia, so far we've been thinking about what it was like back then.


For specials we've been learning how to help your group if something doesn't go as you planned, and to act with integrity.


This week was fantastic because we earned our first reward . We also had a great week because we've been working together and having a great time at school.

This week was so much fun! We did so many fun things including our Halloween party.


In math we have been learning about so many interesting things. We've been splitting up in different groups meaning we're learning different things. Some of the things we learn include solving problems using models and converting measurements using the metric system


In social studies we have been learning about geography and maps.


In reading we’ve been finishing book clubs and reading Out Of My Mind By Sharon Draper.


In writing we've been brainstorming many ideas for writing an essay. Including writing a claim, and reasons why.


In specials we have been earning rewards, and paper chains.


This week was SPOOKtacular! We did so many great things and had an amazing Halloween!

For read a loud we finished reading Out of my Mind so we started a book called Stef Soto Taco Queen. So far I think it is a good book.

Hello! Welcome to our weekly blog. This week we ​received our binders and finished our calendar in ​number corner. We also changed jobs.


In math, we took 2 tests and are learning about ​number forms. We are also learning about place ​value. Everyone in class is taking a 1 minute test.


In ELA we are trying out a new unit about the ​heart. Also, we are learning about literal and ​figurative idioms. We are reading Stef Soto Taco ​Queen and so far it’s a great book.


In art, we are working on cool stop motions that ​have a lot of photos. In Science, Drama, Music we ​earned our rewards and we will do a special ​activity!


We did a lot of fun and/or long routines and tests. ​It was a fun and fantastic week. Happy first day of ​December!!!

Niko got braces ! It’s essay week.


This week we are writing a paragraph about greathearted ​people. Also, fossils and if a volcano can spawn in your ​backyard. (We also learned about the Ring of Fire).


In math, we started a new calendar about area, perimeter and ​lines. We are still getting used to it! The grade has started a ​new unit about fractions and parts. We switch classes for math ​and learn with a different teacher.


We read “Stef Soto Taco Queen” and Stef wanted to go to a ​concert. Stef's parents said no, but Stef saw the singer buying ​tacos at her taco truck!! We are also writing paragraphs about ​how these famous people are great hearted.


We are learning about fossils and how a baby rhino was found ​near a farm in Nebraska. Also, if a volcano can spawn in your ​backyard. We used charts to plot volcanoes on a map like a ​jigsaw.


In Music we did a rhythm scavenger hunt and Mrs. Weismehl ​introduced us to “Cool Kid Spray” which is a spray bottle full of ​glitter water.


To sum it up, this was a really fun week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This week we did some assessments and started ​our candy land challenge.


In writing we’ve been doing paragraphs about Dr. ​Gross. In reading we’ve been doing read to self ​and read aloud.


In science we’ve been doing experiments with ​volcanos. Also we did an experiment with ​marshmallows to find our pulse.


This week we switched for math and worked on ​fractions. Also we had Viking time and we had a ​assessment.


In specials we did assessments in music and ​Spanish. In art we did stop motion with cool ​effects. In science we did a snowflake paper.


To sum it up it was a fantastic and busy week!

ITS SO COLD!!!

This week we did multiple interesting things. We revisited math ​facts and binder time. Also, we are getting better at this ​month's calendar grid!


In ELA, we mostly do binder time, which takes a LONG time. In ​binder time, we go through slides and write and work on ​worksheets from a workbook. Also, we read a book called “The ​Circulatory System”. It is about the heart, and we read sections ​and find figurative language.


In Math, we are learning about decimals. We also did a math ​mystery.


In Science, we are learning about the fossils in Colossal ​Canyon. We think about how it changes in the environment.


In Music, we earned another POP reward and figured out how ​to play “Closet Key” on boomwhackers and xylophones. In ​Spanish, we learned about upcoming holidays and played a ​game related to a famous Mexican temple called Chichen Itza. ​We did STEM challenges and in Drama, we build machines with ​our bodys. The theme is things 10yr olds would want.

This week, we got a new calendar and had a sub. ​Friday was Amelia’s birthday!! We also had LOTS of ​fun in Art in Action!!!


In this unit, we are learning about decimals and ​fractions. We have a new calendar about angles. We ​are still getting familiar with the angles!

This week we made the title for our booklets for ELA. ​We also completed 2 assessments about “The ​Circulatory Story.”

In Science, we watched a video about fossils called ​Science Court. We learned about petrifaction in ​fossils.

In Music, we got 2 PoP celebrations! In Spanish we ​played Quizlet Live and watched a video about the ​shadow of a snake on a temple in Chichen Itza (A old ​abandoned Mexican temple).



This week was a blast. We enjoyed writing it, and we ​hope you enjoy your weekend including Ms. ​Bierbower!

This week was great. We did lots of fun stuff. It was also the ​100th day of school.


In math class, we are focusing on fractions and decimals.


In science we did a lesson called My Slide City Home. In the ​lesson we made a design for a simple device to protect your ​house from a landslide.


This week in ELA we did a lot of binder time! And also we ​wrote our essays about the literal meaning of the heart.❤️


In Science, we are learning about energy and how it ​transfers from one place to another. In Spanish, we earned ​our reward and we get to watch a movie called Chupa.

Hello! This is our 17th class blog! Yay! This week, we finished ​our paper chain line so next week we will have a ​celebration! Also, we handed out valentines! Also, Mrs. ​Booth ( Ms. Bierbower’s sister) came to give a presentation ​and miss. Bierbower told us at the last second.


In Math, we finished our unit, and did a fun Valentine’s Day ​Math Mystery! We also took our math fact tests. Then, Ms. ​Bierbower revealed that everyone passed their test!.


In ELA, we have binder time. It’s quite long,1 and half an ​hour. But, we are reading a book called “Love that Dog”, and ​the main character is Jack. It is a poetry book, so we are ​focusing on poems.


In Specials, we got a Drama celebration! We played Poison ​Dart Frog and Wax Museum. In Art, we worked on our tints ​and shades pictures.

This week was brilliant! We did lots of fun stuff. Scroll down ​to read about all the fun stuff we did this week. Also, Mrs ​Hutchison agreed for us to have a class prom!


In ELA, we are STILL doing Binder time. All of us think it’s long, ​but it depends on what we are doing. This week, we are ​reading more of “Love That Dog”, and we filled out our ​December through February pages in our binders. The book is ​about Jack, and how he is writing poetry.


In Social Studies, we decoded words and answered questions ​about geography . We also learned these two words. ​Demographics and Geographic Inquiry Process. ​Demographics means the facts you can study about a group ​of people. Geographic Inquiry process means a five-step ​process that helps answer geographic questions.


In Math, we learned about how to convert metric ​measurements. We are learning this to help make a new floor ​plan for our school's cafeteria. We will learn to also cooperate ​with a team.

This week in math, we measured our school cafeteria. This is ​because in this unit, we are learning about measurement and ​making a floor plan for a new one. Also, we made a class ​survey, to see how people like our cafeteria


In Music, we played our class melody on xylophones. In ​Spanish, we wrote what our eye and hair color was. In ​Science, we went outside and drew what the garden looked ​like and what we wanted it to look like. In Drama, we had an ​assembly and rehearsed our stories.


In ELA, we are STILL doing binder time. We finished the book ​“Love That Dog”, and had a Socratic Seminar!


In Social Studies, we are creating trivia questions based on ​geography.

This week was really awesome! We moved desk. Now we are ​all sitting facing the TV. Hello, welcome to our class blog! ​There are only 4 more days of school until spring break, and a ​lot has happened. 🥳🎉


In math, we practiced area and perimeter. We also are ​learning about rounding.


In ELA, we finished binder time and we are working on making ​inferences. We are reading a book call the Mysteries Of Harris ​Burdick. We use the pictures inside to infer!


In Spanish we are learning adjectives and we got to do a ​special this or that. In Music, we did Down by the Valley 2 by 2 ​dance. In Drama, we shared our performances.


In Social Studies, we are learning about history and the ​diffence between primary and secondary sources. In groups, ​we identified if artifacts are primary or secondary.🕵️‍♂️

We got new jobs! The new bloggers are Niko and Leela.


In math we created our floor plans for the cafeteria ​renovation.


For ELA throughout the week we read a book called Rescue ​and Jessica and a video about a guy Michael who was an army ​veteran in Afghanistan and in Iraq and then we made a ​paragraph about how assistance dogs can change lives. We ​also read Razia’s Ray of Hope a poem and watched another ​video and then we made another paragraph


In social studies this week we created Illinois brochures.


In science we did coding which was super fun, in drama we ​did script work and in art we continued our food sculptures.

In ELA we started book clubs. Everyone is reading one ​of 3 books. Book uncle and me, Pippa park raises her ​game and I can make that promise. We are also learning ​about text structures this week.


In Science,we talked about what makes a living thing a ​living thing and in art we painted our food sculptures.


We had a GREAT week and look forward to the next!
